Truck driver stabbed at I84 rest stop

first_imgA commercial truck driver suffered minor injuries after he was stabbed by an unidentified man early this morning while stopped at a viewpoint parking area on Interstate 84 in the Columbia River Gorge.The driver, Edwin J. Jones, 39, of Plymouth, Neb., was approached by two men in a parking area east of Corbett, Ore., just after midnight, according to Oregon State Police Lt. Gregg HastingsOne of the two suspects pulled out a knife and assaulted the truck driver, causing minor wounds to his hand, lower arm and stomach, Hastings said.That suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s, five-5 feet 10 inches tall, with a skinny build and light facial chin hair, and wearing a black beanie, grayish-black hooded sweatshirt and dark cargo pants.The other suspect is described as a Hispanic or Indian male, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a heavy build. Jones sustained minor injuries and was taken to Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, where he received several stitches for his wounds before being released, Hastings said.last_img read more
