Bolton plot summer swoop for Spanish striker

first_imgBolton boss Neil Lennon is set to swoop for Numancia forward Sergi Enrich, according to reports in Spain.Spanish football website Fichajes.com suggests Enrich, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is a main target for the Wanderers chief as he looks to strengthen his attacking options over the summer. The 25-year-old has scored 15 goals in 34 games in the Spanish second tier this season, and he was also prolific at the start of his career at Mallorca B – notching 30 goals in 83 appearances. With the likely departure of Jermaine Beckford, who has been on loan at Preston North End, and Adam le Fondre heading back to Cardiff City following his loan spell, Bolton are somewhat lacking in strikers – with just two forwards set to be on their books on June 1.Despite the possible one-year extensions to Emile Heskey and Eidur Gudjohnsen’s deals, Lennon has been scouting Spain for further firepower and it seems Enrich may be the answer. 1 Sergi Enrich (red) in action for Real Mallorca last_img read more
