Jamaica College (JC) captain and top schoolboy defender, Allando Brown refers to today’s ISSA/Flow Super Cup final, which put defending champion JC against Manning Cup favourite, St George’s College as the ‘El Clasico’ of schoolboy football. The reference points to the high-profileclashes between Spanish rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona.Brown’s mature leadership and commanding presence at the back has many observers calling him the best schoolboy defender this season. But this weekend he will be up against one of the most feared attacker in this year’s competition, in Alex Marshall.Brown, however, insists that there is no fear among his teammates and himself and that they will come with their A game.”As we say (at JC), this is El Clasico. So we are going out there to do it,” he told The Gleaner.”All season, even in preseason, we didn’t get a chance to play against St George’s, so we don’t know what they are really about. But by seeing them we see that they have a lot of passing. But Jamaica College is about that as well, so we are going out on Saturday (today) to deliver and hopefully we get to defend the Super Cup,” he continued. However, he admitted that keeping tabs on Marshall and company will be a very difficult task.”It’s a rough task, honestly. But when top strikers are going up against top defenders, they have to come with their A game, trust me. But we are coming with our A plus game.”Nobody is a threat to Jamaica College, whoever they bring we are just going to do our job.. as Jamaica College is always about guts, fight and determination,” he added.
